Wise Children is a Bristol-based theatre company conceived, created and led by multi award-winning director Emma Rice. Wise Children creates landmark work with exceptional artists, challenges outmoded theatre touring models and trains the next generation of creative practitioners.

Emma has a revolutionary approach to creating a show:
‘I cast for spirit. I cast the person that chimes with me and with one of the roles I am looking for. I keep my mind and my eyes open and look for a team that can bridge the gap between the past and the present, bring something unique and surprising to the material. Yes, it’s careful, yes, it is political, but mostly it’s about personal chemistry.’
