Federation of Drama Schools
The Federation of Drama Schools (FDS) was formed in 2017 by twenty of the UK’s premier drama schools for professional training in performance, production arts and technical theatre. The FDS institutions have a longstanding history and tradition of producing professional performers and performance makers, whose expertise in doing this has been recognised by core professional and industry organisations and who all have shared hallmarks and approaches in respect of the best methods of providing training in accordance with the conservatoire ethos.
The FDS members adhere to the core principles and guidelines of the federation, by uniting under a common set of shared values, histories and objectives, the FDS is able to meet the challenges of the contemporary conservatoire sector and creative industries.
At its core, the FDS, as an organisation seeks to ensure the maintaining of consistently high standards through adopting values embracing equality and inclusivity in pursuit of training and educating the artistic leaders, performers, performance makers and technicians of the future.
FDS joined Stage sight in recognition of shared priorities: to work collaboratively to ensure that what we see on stage reflects and enables the skill and talent of all who could, and do, make performance happen.
