Make a commitment

Brighton Dome & Festival Ltd

Equality & Diversity are integral to Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival’s vision to be a year-round destination for diverse artists and audiences and use the power of the arts to enrich and change lives.

We have and will continue to show our commitment to representing a diverse range of artistic voices and broadening the range of people making up our audiences.

We will continue to strive to remove any barriers which may prevent access to the work we both create and present. We believe inclusivity and equality are crucial to the success and sustainability of our organisation. By celebrating difference, we sustain, refresh, replenish and release the true potential of all artistic talent enriched by the individuals and communities we engage with. We aim to demonstrate sector leadership through the choices we make when selecting work to produce or to host, develop artists and form and foster partnerships that promote talent development.

We will reach our equality aims by supporting the work of a diverse programme of artists whilst always ensuring the doors are open and the welcome is warm for all to experience the arts and for diverse local communities to use our venues to come together and to reach a wider audience.

Alongside this we want our staff to be representative of our local community and we know that we need to do more to encourage BME and disabled people to work with us, as these groups are currently under represented in our organisation.
