Arts Council England to be tracking the socio-economic diversity of the workforce of their funded organisations

For the first time Arts Council England are going to be tracking the socio-economic diversity of the workforce of their funded organisations. They are also tracking the same data of their own staff at the Arts Council.

They say: “We know there are barriers to entry into the sector for working class people, and we’re committed to changing this – and that starts with getting the right data.”

Watch the video to see a panel conversation with experts from across the arts, culture and research sectors – who shine new light on the issues faced by working class people entering the arts and culture sector.

Hosted by David Loumgair, Founder and Creative Director of COMMON, we hear from ATC Artistic Director Matthew Xia, Museum as Muck Founder Michelle McGrath, Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Director Kate Danielson, Researcher Dr Susan Oman and our own Director for Diversity, Abid Hussain.
